4 DAYS WILDLIFE QUEEN ELIZABETH TOUR
Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the best savannah national parks in Uganda located in the west and covering an area of 1978sq km. The park was designated by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. The park is home to the famous Kazinga channel that stretches up to 44km. The park has gorge which the only place to see habituated Chimpanzee, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkey, crater lakes, salt lakes, valleys that were created by secondary faulting in the East African rift valley. It host avian species which include blue headed beef eaters, Africa fin foot, papyrus gonoleck, martial eagle , handsome francolin among other species.
Day 1
You will be picked by the guide and then embark on a 6hr long drive to Queen Elizabeth national park in western Uganda. The trip will not seem long as you will enjoy the beautiful landscape with your guide. You will have a stopover at the Equator and Igongo Cultural Center for lunch before proceeding to the park for a night or evening game drive before you retire to your accommodation.
Day 2
After your early morning breakfast you will go on a game drive through the park for a chance to spot incredible wildlife including animals such as pride of lions, solitary leopards in Cactus trees, different antelopes species dotted in savannah plains of Katungulu, large herds Buffalo that turn a bush land into a savannah in a short time. You then proceed for a boat cruise at 1400hrs after your lunch on the Kazinga channel for game viewing and birding experience.
Day 3
After breakfast you will enjoy chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. The park also hides an underground tropical forest which was formed by secondary faulting rich in biodiversity. You will be able to enjoy hiking the steep slopes of the gorge and if you are lucky also spot chimpanzees and the white colobus monkeys. You can also venture south of Ishasha wilderness that harbors the biggest percentage of climbing lions.
Day 4
You will have an early rise for a short game drive before you start your trio back to Kampala. you will have lunch in Mbarara and then proceed to your destination.
