2 Days Volcanoes Gorilla Trek, The safari offers the shortest although the most exhilarating gorilla trek experience in Rwanda. The Volcanoes national park in Rwanda is one of the a very few national parks and the only one in Rwanda that provides mountain gorilla trekking in the World. Some of the gorillas have been habituated to give trekkers a memorable experience.

Day 1

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by the driver who will take you on a 2-3 hour drive to Musanze province in the north where Volcanoes national park is located. The drive has interesting sights to see that will keep the visitor entertained. On arrival, there will be checking into the accommodation and preparing for the trip. Later on in the day, you will enjoy a brief tour of Kigali city where you will visit the Genocide memorial site to learn some history.

Day 2

After an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am, you will pack lunch and trekking gear thereafter taken to the headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing before the trek. The park guide or ranger will inform you of what to expect on the trek and how to behave around the animals. After the briefing you will be assigned guides and a gorilla family to trek.  Mountain gorilla trekking takes about 1-8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Along the journey you will have a chance of spotting other primates inhabiting the forest. After finding the gorillas, you will have only 1hour with them where you can take photos and see how the primates behave in their natural habitats and then head back to the lodge to pack for the return journey to Kigali.
