12 Days Uganda & Rwanda Discovery, This incredible tour brings you to the pearl of Africa, Uganda for the ultimately stunning views, landscapes ,game drives among others. After which you will finally the cross to the most cleanest country in Africa, Rwanda.
Day 1
After morning breakfast you will picked by the tourist guide from the hotel from where you will start the 6-7 hours journey drive through the Luwero Triangle, a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos and Masindi for lunch and finally arriving at Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival you will check into your accommodation and night game drive.
Day 2
You will take an early breakfast then set off on a game drive in the Northern sector where you will watch buffalos, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda Kob among other animals and watch birds such as Egyptian geese, pelican, Bee eaters, King fishers and hornbill. You will go back to the hotel for a lunch break then later go on a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile and then take pictures to the mighty falls.
Day 3
After breakfast you will visit the top of the Murchison falls go all the down to the bottom on a boat ride and then enjoy a hike all the way back up. You will take rest at the lodge before embarking on the journey to Kibale Forest National Park the primate capital.
Day 4
You will have breakfast early then go to the parks headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest National Park has the highest concentration of chimpanzees in Uganda and also other primates that include; L’Hoest’s monkey, the black and white colobus, Blue monkeys among others. In the afternoon you will go a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary which is superb for birding or visit crater lakes.
Day 5
After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with stopovers for sightseeing at the Amabere ga nyina Mwiru caves. According to the traditional they define these stalactite and stalagmite as rock in nature that have are shaped like the female mammalian glands and have milk-like substances oozing out(calcium deposits) There are waterfalls that visitors and locals like showering in. This place is historically rich and beautifully created to give you everlasting memories. You will have lunch along the way in Fort portal and then proceed to arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 6
You will get an early breakfast then proceed to go on a game drive to see early rising animals such as giant forest hogs, predators including lions, hyenas before they retire to their habitants. You will also have a chance to watch herd including buffalos and elephants. After your lunch and a short rest at the lodge, you will go for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel which has the highest concentration of animals and birds such as saddle billed stork in the park.
Day 7
You will go to the sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to checkout for tree climbing lions. This time you will be looking at the unbelievable tree climbing lions which will blow your mind. The lions are usually seen resting on the fig tree branches. You then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Day 8
You will have breakfast as early as 6:30am before going to the parks headquarter for briefing before the mountain gorilla trek. The park ranger or guide will take you through how should behave and what to expect on the trek. Visitors are advised to walk behind the guides so that they can navigate you through the thick forest, give you information about the primates and history of the park and also in case of unforeseen danger. Mountain gorilla trekking in the forest can take 2-8 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you’re trekking. Once you have spotted them, you will spend with them an hour observing and also taking photos. You will then head back to the lodge to rest and later there is an optional tour of the local Batwa community who had occupied the land way before it was reserved as a national park.
Day9
After breakfast you will embark on a trip across the border at Gatuna through Kabale District and arriving in Rwanda. You will enjoy stunning views of the landscape of the countryside along the way and the majestic Virunga Mountains. On arrival at the Volcanoes National Park you will check into your accommodation then rest.
Day 10
After early morning breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about bow to behave around the Mountain gorillas and what the journey entails. You will then be assigned a guide and a gorilla family to trek. You will then immerse yourself in the forest in search of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend with them an hour taking photos and observing their behavior. You will visit the Dian Fossey tomb to learn more about her work and how you change the world for the better.
Day 11
You will have breakfast and then drive to the capital city Kigali where you will have lunch and then visit the Genocide Memorial Site for a history lesson about the genocide that tragically devoured more than a million lives in Rwanda.
Day 12
After a relaxing breakfast, you will take one last visit to Kigali city into the vibrant markets to grab yourself a souvenir and engage the people. You will be driven to the airport for your departure flight.
