Our 4-day white water rafting and Murchison falls tour takes you to Murchison falls national park the oldest and largest national park found in northwestern Uganda. White water rafting is one of the most exhilarating activities that has become a tourist favorite in Jinja town. Jinja town has quickly risen as the most adventurous tourist destination in Uganda offering adrenalin pumping activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking among others.
Visitors can enjoy this water activity along the Nile river the longest river in the world that flows through the park. The Nile has deep and gentle pools fitted in between strong and exciting rapids and legions of numerous channels. The Nile river has various rapids between the magical mid-river islands from which the experienced guides can select for those who want to take it slow. Water rafting can take the whole day and visitors can choose any level of raft they feel they can manage.
Murchison falls national is the best national park for game viewing as it boasts of over 75 mammals and 451 bird species. The park bisected by the River Nile diving it into the north and southern with the northern region which attracts the most tourists and the south hosting the Budongo forest. The park’s gem is the Murchison falls as the Nile squeezes through a 7 paced gorge splashing droplets over 50m radius at the “Devil’s cauldron” creating a magical rainbow.

Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Jinja town/4 Days White water rafting and Murchison Falls national Park Safari
Depending on your location, you will be picked up by our guide from Early Trails Expedition to embark on the journey east to Jinja town. You will enjoy stopovers at Sezibwa falls in Mukono district that are of significance to the Buganda Kingdom culture, stunning scenic views of the falls, rocks and an array of bird species. Another stopover will be at Mabira forest where you will enjoy nature walks, zip lining and birding. You will then continue to arrive in Jinja town, check into accommodation and have lunch.
Later on you will enjoy an evening boat cruise to the source of the Nile for a chance to enjoy the stunning surroundings as well as the beautiful sunset. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: White water rafting. Transfer to Murchison falls national park.
Following morning breakfast, you will be picked by your tour guide and transfer to the River banks. You are required to leave all your valuables and dry clothes in the car. There will be an orientation about what to expect and the safety measures to follow. You will be assigned experienced team of guides to ensure you have the best rafting experience and choose from the different grades one which you can manage. Rafting takes the whole day with a lunch break. After the activity, the tour guide will drive you to Murchison falls national park which is a 6 hour drive. On arrival, there will be checking into the lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive. Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.
You will have an early morning breakfast which will be followed by 3 hour game drive in the northern sector of the park for a chance to spot wildlife including; elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalos, lions, Uganda kobs among others. You will return to the lodge for a lunch break.
Later on you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile accompanied by picturesque views of aquatic life such crocodiles and birds such as cormorants, Kingfisher and so many more. You will arrive at the bottom of the falls after which you will hike to the top of the falls to get a bird’s eye view of the mighty falls. You will then meet up with the driver who will transfer you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe Airport. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary tour.
Morning breakfast will be followed by checking out and starting the journey back to Kampala. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track rhinos in the only place where you can see rhinos in the wild in Uganda. You will have another stopover for lunch after which the guide will drop you at your desired location.
