3 Days Mount Sabinyo Hiking, The 3 Days hike of Mount Sabyinyo takes you on a thrilling adventure to Mgahinga National Park which is strategically borders Uganda, the DRC and Rwanda. Mount Sabyinyo forms part of the larger Virunga massif which includes a string of ]8 volcanic mountains. Mount Sabyinyo towers to height of 3,645m above sea level and forms part of the three volcanic mountains in Mgahinga national park. It’s a 4-hour hike to the top featuring spectacular views and unbelievable wildlife sightings worth the journey. It’s a challenging journey which requires physical fitness because the mountain has incredibly large craters and sharp ridges. Mgahinga national park is also famous for its golden monkeys and mountain gorillas.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park.
You will be picked by our tour guide from Early Trails Expedition after a delicious breakfast at your hotel. You will then start the journey to southwestern Uganda to Kisoro which is an 8-hours drive with two stopovers. Along the way, the tour guide will be briefing you about what to expect from the 3-day mount Sabyinyo safari. The first stopover will be at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will enjoy a photo moment and participate in an interesting water experiment. You will continue the drive through Masaka town arriving in Mbarara town where you will enjoy some lunch. You will proceed to pass through Kabale town and then finally arriving in Kisoro at Mgahinga National Park where you will check in at your lodge, have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 2: Hike Mount Sabyinyo.
After a hearty morning breakfast, you will request for packed lunch from your residence. You will then pack all the necessary gear appropriate for hiking such as boots, rain jacket and others before being picked by your tour guide. The tour guide will then transfer you to Ntebeko where you will be briefed about the hike, given a walking stick and porter to assist you in carrying your bag pack during the hike.
You will start the hike ascending through swamps and thick vegetation and Bamboo forests. Expect to encounter numerous wildlife including Elephants, Gorillas and many others not forgetting a spectacular array of bird species. You will then proceed through the Sub-Alpine region with dotted trees arriving at the summit. The mountain is strategically located that you can geographically be in three countries at the same time that is Rwanda, ‘the land of a thousand hills’, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. There stunning views of Lakes, mountains, the vegetation which work in perfect synergy to give you that perfect picturesque moment.
After spending time at the summit, you will start the journey back to Ntebeko where you will meet up with your tour guide who will then transfer you back to the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala. End of Safari.
You will enjoy morning breakfast at leisure, after which you will embark on the journey back to Kampala. Along the way, you will have stopovers for lunch and the option of visiting the Equator once again. You will also enjoy numerous scenic views of the countryside including large farmlands. You will arrive in Kampala late in the evening and that’s the end of the safari.
